  • In a complex business dispute between a property management company and a shopping center involving embezzled funds and other claimed damages exceeding $1.35M, prepared extensive mediation brief attacking factual and legal basis of shopping center’s claims, resulting in favorable settlement of all claims for  $150K, which consisted of $135K in admittedly owed funds that were embezzled by former employee.

  • Drafted successful motion to compel compliance with deposition subpoena against aerospace engineering company by arguing that CEO’s refusal to testify as to former CEO’s compensation prejudiced client’s ability to defend against financial elder abuse claims brought by former CEO's next of kin in lawsuit seeking over $24 million dollars in damages. 

  • Successfully defeated on summary judgment a prospective tenant’s racial discrimination claim against commercial landlord whose exclusivity agreement with existing tenant precluded landlord from leasing to claimant.

  • Prepared damaging cross-complaint against former employee asserting wage and hour claims against toll road servicer for recovery of wage overpayments after discovery responses from employee showed that employee falsely reported hours, resulting in client  favorable settlement of former employee’s claims for 1% of original demand.

  • Performed oral argument opposing motion to quash service on behalf of restoration services company seeking to assert creditor’s claim against receivership estate in dissolution action involving Academy Award winning director.
  • Assisted in settlement of Malibu property owner's claim against major hip-hop artist who rented and  damaged property used in taping of major television series.

  • In retaliation claim brought by former employee of electrical contractor, prepared brief to National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) arguing that NLRB lacked jurisdiction over contractor whose activities were purely intrastate, and that contractor’s termination was unrelated to former employee’s protected activities, resulting in complete dismissal of retaliation claim. 

  • Advised surety on whether res judicata defense precluded arbitration claim against surety and principal brought by obligee that was compelled by court to arbitrate dispute with principal, which resulted in stay on action against surety, where obligee failed to initiate arbitration within statute of limitations period and where stayed action was dismissed after obligee’s counsel withdrew and obligee failed to retain replacement counsel.



  • In a breach of lease action by a commercial property owner against a former tenant involving $100K+ in unpaid past and future rent, successfully settled matter for $57K on behalf of property owner after discovery that that commercial lease drafted by previous counsel contained various problematic clauses that made prospects for recovery doubtful.

  • Successfully opposed motion for $40K+ attorney’s fees by arguing that out-of-state automobile dealership who prevailed on dismissing action on personal jurisdiction grounds was not prevailing party under Consumer Legal Remedies Act since procedural victory was not dispositive on the merits of the dispute. 

  • Successfully closed deal involving year-long negotiations between restaurant chain owners resulting in the division of more than half a million dollars in assets.
  • Drafted motion for summary judgment against former employee claiming partnership interest in chain of cannabidiol stores throughout Los Angeles.

  • Drafted appellate brief challenging order granting summary judgment in defamation action against disgruntled television show contestants who banded together to ruin producer’s reputation after television program was cancelled.

  • Conducted research and drafted memoranda advising client on applicability of Highway Beautification Act to federal land, resulting in resumption of multi-billboard construction project along major Southern California freeway.
